In celebration of baby Cooper’s arrival in a few hours, I thought I’d take a few minutes to share these beautiful maternity portraits from their session last month.
This gorgeous mom is a friend of mine whom I met at exercise class. We were all thrilled when they got pregnant and have enjoyed continuing our workouts throughout her pregnancy!
I love showcasing the beauty of a growing pregnant belly. We photographed this session in the studio in both casual clothes, wraps and fabrics. One of my favorite parts of the session was working with their older boy. He was so well-behaved and really such a cutie. I let him take MY picture and he did a pretty good job. (I should post that too – maybe on Facebook). He is so adorable, I’m sure he’ll make a terrific big brother.
A maternity session is not something that everyone wants to do, but I would like to insert a quick comment. I usually hear “I wish I had done maternity pictures” and I never, ever hear “I wish I hadn’t”. Just like the fleeting newborn days, pregnancy only lasts a short time (yes, I do remember that at times it feels like it’s forever, LOL). It’s a time that you probably want documented and a safe, private portrait session with a trained photographer is a wonderful way to beautifully capture this very special time.

I’m excited to share this session here on the blog. Not only is this little 9 month old a cutie pie, but the entire family is awesome! The baby was teething, however I was able to shoot fast and capture some fun moments in between his discomfort. He loved my little brown rocking chair and red Radio Flyer wagon. He loved his Mommy & Daddy too. I’m so thankful mom has great friends (also my wonderful clients) who told her to call for a session!

I really enjoy family portraits and outdoor sessions. Now is the time to get your family together for a fun shoot. Anyone wishing to use photos on their Christmas cards should schedule ASAP. All portrait orders which must arrive for Christmas, must be placed by December 5, 2011.
Some favorite locations include: Creve Coeur Park, Blanchette Park, McNair Park, Main Street- St. Charles, New Town and the St. Peter’s Park at City Hall (Rec Plex). You may have a favorite local place too. I’m happy to try something new!

Hey there Blog fans! Time for me to catch up and share what has kept me so busy. Here’s Tommy. We had a great time taking his senior pictures! We started down on Main Street in old town, St. Charles. I love the variety down there! We found worn out walls, rubble, and used the great colors of our historic town.
Tommy loves his Jeep (he comes by it naturally, visit Axle Boy if you have your own jeep. You can get yours outfitted for some off-road fun!) He even washed it for such an occasion as a senior photo shoot. Naturally, we had to get a few shots to showcase it!
I love it when seniors bring props, whether it’s a car, jeep, truck, motorcycle or sports equipment. Anything that makes a session unique and “yours” is a great idea.

I’m happy to share a few favorites from Chris’ photo session. He’s a drummer and we had to get a few poses with his set. I’ve had the privilege of performing in a number of events and services with him as well as watching him play from the audience. He’s quite talented. I’m thrilled that I got to photograph his senior pics.
Since he is such a great drummer, we decided to have some fun with one image! Love the flames.
And this is probably my favorite shot of the day. It’s a close-up, he has a great smile and the drum set is in the foreground.
